Setup guide
Connect your AI to PinPin
Once it’s connected, your AI can read, write and create your stickies. Pick the AI app you use — it takes about a minute.
Claude desktop app
Download the PinPin add-on and open it. Claude asks you to confirm — click Install, and you’re done.
Add PinPin to Claude
Needs PinPin in your Applications folder.
Claude Code
Run this once in Terminal.
claude mcp add pinpin -- /Applications/PinPin.app/Contents/MacOS/pinpin-mcp
Codex in the ChatGPT app or Terminal
Run this once in Terminal, then restart ChatGPT.
codex mcp add pinpin -- /Applications/PinPin.app/Contents/MacOS/pinpin-mcp
No Terminal? Add PinPin to Codex’s settings file by hand
Paste these two lines at the end of ~/.codex/config.toml, then restart ChatGPT.
[mcp_servers.pinpin]
command = "/Applications/PinPin.app/Contents/MacOS/pinpin-mcp"
Cursor
Click the button. Cursor opens and asks you to confirm.
Check it worked
- In PinPin, click Copy link on any sticky.
- Paste it into your AI and ask: “What’s in this note?”
- Your AI answers with what’s on the sticky. The first time, PinPin also confirms it under its menu bar icon.
Troubleshooting
- My AI says it can’t find PinPin
- PinPin must be in your Applications folder. Move it there, then restart your AI app.
- It’s connected, but can’t read or change anything
- Check that AI access isn’t Off: PinPin menu bar icon › AI Access, or PinPin Settings › AI. Read only lets your AI read but not change your notes.
- I use regular ChatGPT chats
- Regular chats can’t connect to PinPin yet. Right-click a sticky, choose Copy as Text, and paste it into the chat instead.
